Course coordinatorRuben A.Tikidji-Hamburyan, Laboratory for neuroinformatics of sensory and motor systems, A.B.Kogan Research Institute for Neurocybernetics, Southern Federal University.

Language of the course — Russian.

Neuromodelling is based on principals of nervous system work of living beings. That is why the obvious condition of achieving success in neuromodelling is system neurophysiological researches.

During the course of “Neuromodelling” survey of main directions and spheres of modern classical neuroscience will be represented in tight connection of nervous system physiological peculiarities with abstract technical models. Not only the brain structure, but also the neuron and sub-neuron levels will be thoroughly discussed. This course will show the possibilities of application and the role of Mathematics in Neuroscience. Practical studies will be aimed at the students’ acquaintance with the basic software for neuron modeling.

Latest results in this area of research will be presented in lections “Special methods of optimization in neuromodelling” and “How we recognize the source of the sound — a model of spatial hearing.”

Course will consist of:

  • 3 lectures

  • 2 practice sessions
  • lecture “Special methods of optimization in neuromodelling”
  • lecture “How we recognize the source of the sound — a model of spatial hearing”
