The project management is actively included in the consciousness of the modern Ukrainian business environment. However, an unambiguous understanding of this new management technology has not formed yet, and this often leads to inefficient use of project management capabilities. The international practice of project management is one of the newest technologies and specialties. At the same time, a great experience has been gained in this area and it is generalized and systematized by well-known professional organizations. In particular, the International Project Management Association exists more than forty years, the American Project Management Institute, the creator of the well-known standards PMBoK, exists more than thirty-five years. During this time, the appropriate profession and system of knowledge were established. Both professionalism, project team and project manager occupy a special place in project management. Project managers are responsible for achieving project objectives in the company. Project manager must submit a project plan with the request for resource support, to take responsibility for its implementation. In addition, the projects should be implemented on time, within budget, in accordance with the expected parameters of the content and quality.
Currently international standards for project management are developed, as well as requirements to competence of project managers.
