Spheres of science researches: Professor Riccio, although holding a Doctorate in Jurisprudence, was the first person in the state of New York to design and offer a course in “Logistics” (1986) as one of the business arts. The course was successfully offered at New York University. His few years in the practice of law in the United States, exposed professor Riccio to conflict in areas of transportation and other Logistics issues on a world-wide basis, including Central America, the Middle East and Asia. His travels in connection with these legal issues persuaded him that Logistics was a more worthwhile area of study than the law. He has since published several text books and numerous articles about Logistics; all of which have been lauded by his colleagues in the Logistics field.
At the moment Prof. Riccio is concentrating on research and writing. His primary field of interest currently is the matter of HazMat, i.e. transportation of hazardous materials and how to minimize the risk of such activity. His interest in this field was prompted by the railroad derailment near the city of Lviv in 2007.
