Spheres of science researches: Dr. Sara Manzoni received a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Milan in 2003 and she is associate professor at University of Milano-Bicocca, where she coordinates activities of Artificial Intelligence lab (LINTAR). Her research interests include knowledge-based and agent-based systems. She currently coordinates projects towards the development of theoretical and computational tools to support agent-based design and implementation. She has several experiences in complex problems and systems modelling with knowledge-based approaches, distributed modelling and simulation (humoral-cellular interaction in immune system, forest ecosystems dynamics, localization problems in urban dynamics) and her most recent interests relate to crowds and pedestrian dynamics.
