For KPI students

The Summer School provides a possibility for KPI students to stay in a dormitory of NTUU “KPI” during the summer period on the usual conditions of students’ housing during the academic year. To use this option you must submit the application form and receive its confirmation no later than June 1, 2010. Remember to state in your application form that you would like to stay in the KPI dormitory in August.

If by some reason you will not be able to submit the application form before June 1, 2010, you still may be provided with a room in a dormitory, but on equal terms with all the other participants.

For foreign participants

The Summer School arranges housing for its foreign participants.

We offer the KPI dormitory at the university campus. It is easy accessible to the academic building where the Summer School is held. To book a bed in the dormitory, please, indicate this option in the corresponding part of the application form. Thus the accommodation will be automatically booked on the term you specified. The confirmation of your reservation will be send by e-mail.

Participants in very basic will be accommodated in the three-bed dormitory rooms. To book a room (3 beds) or another number of rooms in the dormitory, send an e-mail request to the Organizing Committee.

How to pay for the accommodation?

СThe accommodation cost is €5 per day for one seat.
ОThe total cost (12 days) is €60 for one seat.

Payment is made in cash upon the registration (August 3).

The information on whether your country has visa-free movement regime with Ukraine is available on the site of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

For citizens of CIS and European Union Ukrainian visa is not required.

Visa support

If you need an official letter of invitation to the Summer School for obtaining a visa to Ukraine, please, send the request to the Organizing Committee containing following information:

  1. Personal data:
    • full name;
    • date of birth;
    • number of your international passport;
    • date, place of issue and expiry date of the passport;
  2. Or:

    • the scanned first page of your passport
  3. Additionally:
    • indicate the period on which you would like to stay in Ukraine;
    • current post address for the official invitation to be sent (if the original invitation is needed);
    • e-mail and fax number.

By Air

Boryspil (the only Kyiv international airport) is 40 minutes away from Kyiv. There are regular buses from the airport to Vokzalna metro station in Kyiv (3 Euro). From there you may travel by subway one stop to the Polytechnic institute station (the fare is 1.70 UAH – approximately 0,2 Euro). Or you can take a taxi from airport to KPI which will cost approximately 25 Euro.

By Rail

Kyiv Central railway station is one stop away from the Polytechnic institute metro station, where KPI campus is located. You may find detailed information about trains from different sities of Ukraine to Kyiv on the site.

There are also international trains to Kyiv. You may find out the information on the trains departing from you city to Kyiv on sites of local carriers in your country.

By Bus

There are numerous buses coming from different cities of Europe and CIS to Kyiv. The bus station is situated in the south part of the city. You may get from the bus station to KPI by taxi (approximate price - 4-5 €) or by subway from Lybidska station.

Foreign participants can be met by the members of Organizing Committee after arrival if necessary.

The registration of the participants will take place on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Summer School office. To be on time with start of courses on the Summer School participants are recommended to arrive on August 3, 2010 and find our office for registration and collecting project materials.

Participants who have booked on-campus accommodation after the registration will be settled in the dormitory by a member of Organizing Committee.

If by some reason you will not be able to arrive for registration August 3, please, contact the Organizing Committee for arranging your registration and housing the other time/day.
