Computing with Spikes
Lecture duration: 2 h
Neurons communicate mainly with spikes. I will first introduce simple spiking neuron models, then I will give an overview of the different ways in which neurons can compute with spikes. Special focus will be given to synchrony and coincidence detection, with a few examples from systems neuroscience. Finally, I will address the issue of learning.
