Electric Nature in the Life: Inside & Out
Duration: 2 h
One of the main tasks of contemporary neuroscience is regulation and modulation of neuronal performance both on level of single cell as well as on level of neuronal nets. Accordingly, the very basis of electrical cell activity will be reviewed. Question of distribution and transmembrane imbalance of simple ions, Nernst potential and its role for determination of transmembrane potential, mechanism of resting membrane potential formation and maintenance, principals of excitable cells electrodynamics, transmembrane passive, active and leak currents will be discussed. Case when transmembrane electric field objectively plays pivotal role in cell functionality and case when it subject to external electromagnetic influence will be considered.
