Traditional players are facing a new competition from IT world; consumers require more service of higher quality and all this together forces telecom operators and vendors to transform their business and mindsets towards more open and dynamic models.
The lecture will highlight main trends in telecommunication industry, most probable scenarios of its development and what measures are taken by major players to address listed challenges. The lecture also will try to answer the question what world and what communication models we are moving to, what “future shocks” we should be ready to face. The lecture will describe the changes in OSS/BSS and technical environments of telecom operators as well as emerging concepts devised to help operators to transform themselves.
