During the last decades energetics provided the growth of prosperity in the world due to two factors (in equal destinies): increase in production and increase in energy usage efficiency. Energy efficiency measures, which are taken now in developed countries provide an opportunity to reduce energy intensity of production approximately for a quarter. However, it is insufficient in view of the current dynamics of energy use, that’s why the increase of energy efficiency of the world economy is a pressing problem. Among the ways of reducing energy consumption in production and daily life the use of energy saving materials is very important.

Materials and constructions which are used in energy efficiency are divided into two groups: design and materials to create energy-saving techniques and technologies and materials for insulation of buildings and structures. Requirements to characteristics of these materials are driven by the sector of their use, mode of operation of corresponding engineering and technology. Thus, there will be requirements for these materials: effective heat exchange or heat insulation, conductivity or electric insulation, heat resilience and corrosion-resistance.

The students attending the course "Energy Saving Materials" will be offered the latest research into new and traditional materials for increasing energy efficiency.
